Kroger Mega Event - Round 3 (I think I have a problem...)

And the sad thing is...I'm not even done shopping during the Mega Event. I still have several coupons to use up!

Here is what I got today - Done in 2 different transactions:
* = Mega Event

Transaction #1:
1 No Yolk Noodles - $1.89
2 *SoBe LifeWater - $1.00 each
8 *Quaker Quakes - $1.00 each
1 Kroger Wheat Flour - $2.19

-$5.00 for Mega Event
-Used $8.54 in coupons

Paid $.39 out of pocket
Will get back $.75 in my UPromise account.

**********************************

Transaction #2:
2 *SoBe LifeWater - $1.00 each
8 *Quaker Quakes - $1.00 each
1 Kroger White Flour - $1.88
1 dozen Eggs - $1.39 (not pictured)

-$5.00 for Mega Event
-Used $7.00 in coupons

Paid $1.19 out of pocket

Now I've been asked before - Why do you buy all this food with just 2 people in your family?

Here is my answer - I am a huge fan of stockpiling. When I find a good deal on a product that is at a rock bottom price, I will buy multiples of them. I can't tell you how many times I have run out of deodorant or body wash, ziploc bags, paper towels, dishwasher detergent...and all I had to do was grab another one from my stash. This beats spending a crap ton of money on something you NEED at the moment, and it's probably not on sale.

I also buy things when I can make a profit. For example: each one of those Quaker Quakes was $1.00, but when I bought 10 ("participating items") they became only $.50. But on the Mega Deal, it just shows -$5.00 off your total, not $.50 off each item.

So in essence, they were:
$1.00 each
-$.75 manufacturer coupon
-$.50 for the Mega Deal
= -$.25
So each bag was -$.25, only to come off some other product. This is called overage! Because of this I was able to get 2 5lb. bags of flour, 1 dozen eggs, and pasta for SUPER cheap.

In fact, I paid $.83 total (after $.75 deposit into my Upromise account). How often can you buy 2 5lb. bags of flour, 1 dozen eggs, and pasta for that much without coupons?? Probably NEVER!!

I bought those 16 bags of Quaker Quakes so I could get the overage on my other items.

Anyways, I do have a lot of food and household items stockpiled around my house. I would rather have that than spend tons of money!

Weight Loss Goal Update - Week 3

2 weeks ago, I shared my decision to lose weight in hopes to help me actually do it!

Here's a recap of my goals. Go HERE for a more detailed description.

* No sugar
* Work out at least 2 hours a week (Rather than saying "I'm going to work out 4 days a week," doing a lump sum of time is more achievable for me.)
* Eat fish 1 meal a week

With all this, my goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. Every 10 pounds I will reward myself, and at the 20lb. and 50lb mark I will do big rewards!!

Lose 10 pounds by Saturday, February 13th
Week 1: 1/10-1/16 – DONE – Lost 2 pounds
Week 2: 1/17-1/23 – DONE - Lost 3 pounds (this means I am ahead of schedule - yay!!)
Week 3: 1/24-1/30 – So I got on the scale and it said I have gained 5 pounds. How I don't see that is possible, I have no idea how much weight I have lost. I know I haven't gained any weight back because my clothes are loose and I can tell my stomach is getting flatter :) I did work out over 3 hours this last week!! Maybe our scale will decide to work this week. (That's what I get for buying a cheap scale) I had halibut on Wednesday. I did eat a little sugar this week, but I made up for it by working out more than 2 hours. I'm still making progress, so that's what counts! I only have 2 weeks left until my 10 pound mark. I hope I can make it!!
Week 4: 1/31-2/6
Week 5: 2/7-2/13
REWARD – Manicure/Pedicure
**I need a pedi right now, so the harder I work the faster I can get the pedi. That is motivating me to lose 10 pounds faster!**

**Goal #4: Lose 20 pounds by Saturday, March 20th** BIG GOAL!!!
REWARD – Massage

Goal #5: Lose 30 pounds by Saturday, April 24th
REWARD – TBD

Goal #6: Lose 40 pounds by Saturday, May 22nd
REWARD – TBD

Goal #7: Lose 50 pounds by Saturday, July 3rd

REWARD – TBD
**I’m thinking a new wardrobe!!**

Staples 15% off coupon

HOT DOG!!

Staples just issued a 15% off any in store purchase coupon (excludes some things of course)

All I can say is...the Lord shall provide.

We have been wanting a laser printer. Well, we started looking up deals online, deciding what we wanted...then my dad just up and said "hey do you guys need a laser printer? You can have our extra one." We didn't even mention we were looking for one. Then we plugged it in and got it working and the toner is real low. Toner is SO expensive. Well, now we can save a little with this new 15% coupon. God is good!
